Every international womens game ive ever seen has always come down to crap goalkeeping. The outfielders often show more skill than they are given credit for but the goalies are always crap. They dive around all over the place but never seem to get in the way of the ball.

That's exactly how the Nigeria gk was today then she made an outrageuos dive to save a shot that was going miles wide just to prove to everyone that she could pull off some sort off dive

To be honest, I find the African Nations Cup much the same. Some very skillful players, but the keepers don't save anything unless it hits them. And, like in woman's football, there's very little tackling or aggression. It seems to be more about trying to intercept passes than about actually winning the ball off the other team.

A classic example

people should give womens football a go, i don't understand the stick it gets, especially on here. It is a good standard, free flowing with no diving around, pro's who play for the love of the game and not the money as they get next to nothing.

Breaking a finger nail is on par with breaking your leg, so it's always going to be tough for the goalkeepers. biggrin.gif

From what little ladies football I have seen on the telly it's usually quite good, never boring.

You try your best to take women's football seriously............and then you read this:

Rachel Brown
30
Everton

England's first-choice keeper at the last three international tournaments, Brown has struggled with injuries that have restricted her to three Women's Super League games this year.

Brown was sent off in England's play-off against Switzerland when Ramona Bachmann convinced the referee that Brown pulled her hair while trying to retrieve the ball. The dismissal was overturned.

I'm watching it, we've just taken the lead. Fair play there's been some good football so far and the Mexican's look comfortable on the ball, but there's also been some very ropey stuff.
I suppose it fills some sort of pre-season void!

Just nice to watch England and feel sort of detached because you don't know every single player and you're not thinking why hasn't the manager started this player etc

No aggression? You obviously haven't heard of Elizabeth Lambert - Just have a look at some of her tackles - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inedwXtNzAk

I know violence on or off the pitch is wrong, but all I want to say is LAMBEEEERRRRT!!!! bowdown.gif

Watching the Sweden - Colombia game, only because I have a bet on it.

Some of the finishing would make Matty Mcneil blush.
