Hello Chester fans,I am an artist based near Abergele (originally from stockport, hence, county fan).Specialise in sports themed pics.
I have just started my latest which you can see me sketching in the attached video,I would appreciate your comments and suggestions.
The sketch of Sealand road is compiled from various references including what I remember from my youth but if there are glaring mistakes please let me know.
A few things I am not sure of....Does anyone remember what was written over the main doors?
Did they have a flag anywhere?
Was the cowshed made from corrugated iron?
Suggestions of who to include would also help,I would like to put a line of more recent legends as the 3rd row.
Thanks in anticipation and I will post the second part as soon as it is done.

There certainly was a flag flying but I cant recall whether it was fixed to the side of the main stand or on the club offices.
It use to fly on match days I believe.
Also there was also a large advert for Screwfix on the side of the main stand as well.

Happy days and great picture ...
Hope you can donate a print to the club ... would look brilliant in the blues bar.

You will start everyone reminiscing now ...

Very good likenesses indeed! Someone might have a list of the official 'Legends' hall of fame that would be a good starting point.

Look forward to seeing part two!

I'm sure the flag was on top of the main stand. Yes it flew on match days, the old stand that is. I think it was on the side of the new stand

I'd prefer to see it called a 'Chester FC' painting, not "Chester City".

We've been either Chester FC or plain old Chester for well over 100 years (1885-1983 and 2010 >>>), we were Chester City for just 27 years (1983-2010).

You could include the foundation stone that someone saved from the rubble of the old ground and we have now had restored and mounted on the new ground. I tried to find a pic of it but couldn't. It just says something like 'Chester FC paid for by supporters 1935'. Someone will have a pic or could easily take one - its quite simple but quite iconic.

That's awesome, I'm sure that when it's finished prints of this would sell very well in the club shop!

There are also lots of photos of Sealand Road on this Facebook page. See link

It's our history that binds us as fans. I still get chills when I see the Sealand Road ground in pictures, amazing teenage years spent there. Miss the old girl.

Very good, beautiful piece of work so far.

I personally would like to see Harry McNally, Graham Barrow, Milton Graham and Trevor Storton added.
There are more but I'll leave it at that for now.

A framed print would look good in my office.
Please don't limit the prints available, it's a guaranteed winner for all fans of all eras.
