Danny O'Brien has signed on loan from Wigan Athletic(Pitchero Non League website). At Aston Villa prior to that.

19 year old Midfielder/winger.

On loan earlier this season with some team 12 miles south of here.

We've must have signed about 10 players on loan this season with that exact profile - a young midfielder/winger. With the exception of Lloyd none of them have lasted more than a couple of games. I hope this is a good one Burr.

Concede goals for fun, a joke of a defence and a keeper who couldn't catch a cold so he signs a fooking winger.

Absolute joke, he's taking the p**s now

Agreed. I can't even get interested in Burr's loan signings now. Yet another one with the same DNA. The big question 'will o'Brien start a game or will he join the ever expanding list of young loanees who return to their clubs without ever playing a full game'. Does anyone think Burr has seen him play?
Desperation stakes from Burr who is looking more and more like a man lost in a thick fog trying to find his way home.

Sadly , we need half a dozen players , a winger being at the bottom of the list . Isn't Craig Mahon a midfielder /winger ?

In terms of what we need (and it's a long list) a winger is literally bottom of the pile. He never sees that the lack of physicality and height is what's killing us. It's the fact that he can't recognise that that really makes me worry.

I don't think anybody is criticising the lad before he has played, more the decision to sign a lightweight winger. Who knows he could make an impact but I'd be signing a Stuart Drummond type of Midfielder.

so are we to presume that the new signing is small in height and lightweight ? as you say we need someone with a physical presence , no point in getting these kids in ,who dont fit the bill just because they come cheap in wages (or for nothing )so we now have mahon/ chappell/ richards/ obrien all wingers now i expect SB to sign a striker and play him on the wing !!

Good luck Danny, bring a warm coat to keep you warm in the stands for your short time here.

I really am starting to get to the point where I am past caring anymore. Burr's taking the p**s with these signings, constantly sounds like he hasn't got the faintest idea how to solve this from his radio interviews and seems content to still stick with the same inept defence and keeper week in, week out.

What's the point in caring when the manager doesn't look like he gives a toss and his players look that way too?

we care because it is OUR club we have supported the blues a long time before SB or any of the players were here and we will still support the club when they have all long gone

The difference between the way Burr loaned players last season and this season couldn't be starker. I actually thought Burr gave an excellent display in how to use the loan market last season, bringing in quality players like McBurnie, Heneghan, Oates and Hughes and giving them good run-outs in a team playing good football. Almost all his loan signings worked, seemed to enjoy playing here, and often extended their spell. This season he just seems to be plucking kids from anywhere, playing them in positions we don't need, lumping the ball towards them and sending them back after a couple of games. I'm not sure how this has happened - one of many ways this season has been a peculiar disappointment.

Still, like all new arrivals he deserves a chance and our support, as it's not the kid's fault. Let's hope Burr has struck overdue gold this time.

If he's a left winger and can cross a ball he is needed. Still in desperate need of a right back as our's is s**t.

Exactly. Burr must be the only person not able to see that we need a better keeper and right back on loan instead of another winger/ midfielder. Is he looking for a pay-off? mad.gif

What was really strange last night is that the players generally slagged off on here, mainly played well last night. Worship, Higgins, Sharps and Chappell did well.
Whereas Hunt, Mahon and Hannah didn't. Unfortunately, Shaw performed completely as expected.

There's more wrong with this team than having a couple of players out of form.

I also wonder whether the revolving door of (mainly) crap loan players has affected the morale and any improvement of our own players

Shaw performs like I imagine I'd perform if I was playing for wrexham. No heart. No desire. The ability is there but he just doesn't care for the shirt.

That's more than likely considering he is on a 2 year contract.
