Ummm, I was there in the restaurant in Portugal on the same night when the whole "golf club" incident happened between Bellamy and Risse. Got Crouch's autograph!

Esther Rantzen's brother was at my Grandmother's funeral.

My Dad was the photographer at Steve Froggatt's wedding; of ex Coventry and Wolves fame.

Simmo tried to steal my girlfriend the night of winning the league (first time round). Pesky Simmo.

Once went swimming with Robert Plant,
I was the winner of an autographed ball from the Leeds League cup game in 7(tho only Chester signed it as Billy Bremner, the Leeds captain refused permission for his team to sign)
and once featured as Chesters'Number One fan when I was first to renew my supporters club membership, when the office was up the stairs on the rows. biggrin.gif

Was buying a ring in a shop in Berlin when Robbie Williams walked in with cameras, body guards etc.

In true british style, I just ignored him.

Some random ones, in no particular order.....

I've played DLT's Pot Black fruit machine quiz game with Lemmy from Motorhead (backstage at the Reading rock festival).

My great, great uncle Len Langford played in goal in the FA Cup final between Man City and Everton in the 1930s when he was in the first ever team to wear numbers above 11. He was in the Man City team, which were numbered 11-22 - and he wore 22. Matt Busby and Dixie Dean played in the same match. He also played for Man Utd and later helped Matt Busby's Mrs give birth when the baby came too soon!

I've swum in a fjord north of the Arctic Circle and seen the Midnight Sun.

I'm also still basking in the glow of being an Olympic volunteer, of course!

Shook Freddie Starr's hand, met Chevy Chase, related to Hughie Gallagher, and went out with Sian Adey Jones's mate.

Not sure why I bothered with the first three.... wink.gif

The Olympic cyclist Chris Boardman once screamed "get out the road!" at me

Phil Liggett is more polite! He once called out to me "Cyclist please dismount" through the loudspeaker of the Commissaire's car as I was trying to get some photos from my bike when the Milk Race passed through Christleton around 1982. Some years later I ended up working with Ligget & Sherwen and told Phil of the incident ... and also that I'd ignored him and got my photos!

Played football with Mickey Thomas in the school yard in Colwyn Bay. OMG! How close was I to going over to the dark side?? ohmy.gif

Joe Bugner strolled into my office at Gold Coast Studios one day and asked me if I knew where the auditions were being held. He was so big and intimidating that I felt like I should have said, "You've got the part!" even though I had nothing to do with the film he was auditioning for! ohmy.gif

Billy Zane, in almost full Phantom costume, once asked me where the toilets were at the Gold Coast Studios when they were shooting the movie there.

Denis Law once asked me where the toilets were when I was working at Granada TV.

Also at Granada, I had a pint with Bruce Jones (Corrie's Les Battersby) after work one day then got accosted by paperazzi as we left the Old School bar.

Nearly got my head knocked off by one of Geoff Boycott's golf clubs as he span around with his golf bag slung over his shoulder. Also in Channel 9 reception in Sydney, I once exchanged glances with Elle McPherson wub.gif , although I suspect that she looked right through me. sad.gif

Very proud to have worked on the pilot series of 'Bananas In Pyjamas', a show enjoyed by millions of toddlers around the world.

Currently working on a very well-known Aussie show for slightly older kids! wink.gif

I bumped into Malandra Burrows wub.gif on the front at Hoylake one Sunday morning in about 1995 . Had a brief conversation where I ended up saying something (embarrassingly naff) like 'I think you're gorgeous' (she was!!!). To be fair, she laughed.....and then moved on crying.gif . I was buzzing for ages afterwards though.

When my son was with Vauxhall Youth I played up front alongside Graham Sharp in a dads v lads match. He didn't recommend me to anyone. Met Tyson Fury at the York Hall when my cousin, Steve Williams fought, unsuccessfully, for the British light-welterweight title the other year. Used to know Rita Tushingham and her family when I lived in Cornwall. Met Jimmy McGovern and Rob James-Collier in the Roscoe Head, Liverpool a few weeks back. Apart from that I've led a fairly celeb free sort of existance.

to be fair, later in that night, he tried to steal my mate's mum.

used to wash Rob Jones' (liverpool right back) car, had a good chat with kenny Dalglish about all things Chester in La Manga, learnt some interesting stuff from Rush's point of view...

Served quite a few famous people whilst working at various customer service jobs over the years.

Working at Chester Zoo - Tony Christie, Jeremy Kyle, Steve Coogan, Mark Lawrenson, Glen Johnson

Working at Waterstones - Quite a few book signings including Esther Rantzen, Robert Lindsay(The dad in "My Family"), John Challis (Boycie from Only Fools & Horses), Tony Robinson and of course Chas Sumner with Grenville Millington and Gary Talbot biggrin.gif. Used to get the late Garry Speed and his wife as regular customers in there including just a week or so before he died, always seemed like very nice people also used to go to school with his 2 cousins who came round to my house every night after school.

Working at the Ellesmere Port Boat Museum - The Queens chauffeur, Paul O'Grady, Fred Talbot (The weatherman from This Morning who used to regularly fall in the Albert Dock in the early-mid 90's), Mike McGear (brother of Paul McCartney and semi-famous musician and photographer in his own right) who was actually one of the nicest blokes ive ever met, I didnt realise who he was at the time but he was very friendly when I was serving him and as he was leaving handed me a rather generous cash tip too.

This thread seems to have gone onto famous people we've met. But I meant to add to mine.....that I've got a hole-in-one. Anyone else achieved that golfing feat?

I was a passenger on the first international crossing by Hovercraft from Wales to England, (Rhyl to Wallasey) early sixties and somewhere still have the certificate.

I have met and had beers with, been on the same plane / night clubs with many Wales Football Internationals past and present.

Met Rhys Ifans a few times and Gruff and Guto from the SFA (at Wales games)

Once when hitching up from Oxford I was given a lift by Patrick Moore (Sky at Night bloke)

My wife's cousin is / was a member of the Jolt who if only they hadn't sold out and moved to London many people say would have been bigger than the Jam.
