I thought it would make more sense to start a new thread for Vanarama News dealing with facts, instead of having half a million posts on the 'Rumours' thread.
First off, Harrogate Town (remember them?) are planning to go full time next season- The National League North is becoming a very competitive league.

Plymouth have signed Nathan Blissett from Torquay for a fee that could reach £30,000. Barrow sign Wolves goalkeeper Jon Flatt on loan for the rest of the season. Macclesfield sign Bury forward Anthony Dudley on loan for the rest of the season. Telford agree to terminate James Hurst's contract allowing the player to join Dover. Eastleigh release winger Jake Howells. Grimsby have made an increased offer for Solihull's Jamey Osbourne after their initial bid was rejected. James Caton has left Southport after they announced they would not be renewing his short term contract.

Think its time for Caton to accept his fate and go play some regular football in the evostik.

Lincoln sign Reading defender Sean Long on loan for the rest of the season. Boreham Wood sign Southend forward Jason Williams on a three month loan. York release goalkeeper Scott Flinders and have told Richard Brodie he is free to find another club. Mills (obviously no fan of Brodie, who is currently serving a two match ban for reaching 10 yellow cards) said, "Richard Brodie is back training with us, but a couple of teams are interested in taking him on loan or permanently. He knows the situation and, with the players I have got here, he won’t play. But if he doesn’t go and he’s still here then he has to be professional and get on with his job the right way. If he doesn’t it will be sorted, as and when.” Braintree who were hoping to bring in two or three new players before Saturday have signed Millwall winger Kris Twardek on a months loan.

Jordan Davies? Still with Wrexham as far as I know. There was a story doing the rounds a few weeks ago that Brighton would be making a bid for him this month so it may well happen I suppose. He was on loan at Bangor and they did make a five figure bid (according to Bryn Law it was £40,000) but that was rejected. Boreham Wood say they have received four offers for two of their players but they have all been rejected. The Wood expect to sign up to three players in the coming weeks. Dover's chairman says they are under no financial pressure to sell Ricky Miller even though his contract expires in the summer and that it would take an extraordinary offer for the club to consider selling him. Dover have already rejected a six figure bid from FGR and are understood to value the player at around £500,000. Barrow sign Wycombe midfielder Dan Rowe on loan for the rest of the season. Paul Cox said he has held very positive talks with Barrow owner Casson over funding new signings and expects to make signings this month. Braintree have signed winger Alex Henshall and midfielder Jordan Sanderson. Jon Parkin who was on loan at the club has signed a contract with York until the end of the seasn with an option of an extra year.

Wrexham sign Cheltenham defender James Jennings on loan for the rest of the season. Solihull are reported to have rejected the offers from Grimsby for Jamey Osbourne and Akwasi Asante, manager Liam McDonald said the Moors are under no pressure to sell any of their players and added that none of his players would be leaving 'on the cheap'. Southport hope to complete the signing of a player in time for Saturday's match with Aldershot.

Three quotes from Martin Allen -

Why he chose to manage Eastleigh -
“I dropped out of the Football League because Eastleigh paid me a lot more money."

His relationship with his new chairman -
‘It’s like when you first meet a bird and she’ll do anything for you,’ Allen says, laughing.

On Eastleigh's FA Cup match not being chosen by TV broadcasters -
“It is absolutely outrageous,” he said. “The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer."

An interview with Theo Vassell

A productive loan spell for Saddlers youngster...

Young defender Theo Vassell believes he has benefited greatly from his time on loan with Chester.

The 20-year-old returned to Walsall earlier this month after his loan spell with the Blues came to an end.

He scored one goal in 16 league appearances for the National League outfit, helping them keep an impressive ten clean sheets.

And Vassell, who played at right-back for Chester, says he thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.

“I really enjoyed my time there,” said Vassell. “It was a completely different experience, my first competitive season playing first-team football and I can honestly say it has really helped me.

“The standard is not easy at all – it took me by surprise. It’s a tough, aggressive league and I would recommend any young player to go there because you’re going to learn a lot. It’s a lot more physical.

“I feel I’ve matured from the experience and I’ve grown from a boy to a man. I’ve learned a lot, on and off the pitch.

“I made 16 appearances for Chester and at one point we had seven clean sheets in a row, and only one defeat in 17 games.

“The team have done well and I’d say the experience has helped me massively. It’s helped me become more vocal as well.”

Vassell has particularly enjoyed playing in front of large crowds, having not experienced that before in his fledgling career.

“That has been one aspect I’ve really enjoyed,” he said. “I’ve played in under-21 and reserve games where you’re playing in front of coaches and trying to impress them, but not many fans.

“It’s been great to play in front of crowds like I have done this season. The biggest was in the derby against Wrexham - there were about 5,500-6,000 and the atmosphere was amazing.

“Most games there are around 2-3,000 and it’s a really good atmosphere. I’d say it drives me on a bit more and it helps me to play in front of big crowds.”

Vassell’s performances certainly impressed Chester boss Jon McCarthy, who has already expressed an interest in getting him back on loan until the end of the season.

“I’m not sure yet if I’ll be going back there or not, but whatever happens, I’ll look forward to whatever I’m doing – whether it’s going back there or staying here,” Vassell added.

“All I want to do is play first-team football which is the most important thing in my career at the moment.”

The offer is more likely to be £40k of laundry services. If it's anything like last time, that probably equates to using a washing machine for 3 days...
