Well it's the 14th March today, and today that the club-killers get their sentence confirmed in Court?

Post any updates here....not sure what time it's all due on.

Chester Chron - are you in attendance at the Court today?

Original story

Come on Judge - don't let us down.

Court 1 at Liverpool Crown Court - kick off 1.30pm - referee is Judge Fletcher CBE.

There's quite a few naughty Scousers on the list for sentencing and review there today, so it may end up being a late result, but I'm hopeful we'll all be celebrating a winner deep into added time.

Both Wayne Rooney and Jamie Carragher both got away with similar offences recently, so you never know.

Got a feeling he will find a way to avoid prison, suspended sentence possibly. He is a slimy bastard who always seems to find a way to keep going in these situations.

Not a chance you don't break a Policeman's cheek bone and not go to prison.

A story about the court where SV/SVJ are being sentenced today, the North Liverpool Community Justice Centre. I wouldn't expect a prison sentence on the basis of that article. angry.gif

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-12544138

North Liverpool Community Justice Centre court at risk

North Liverpool's pioneering community justice centre risks being sidelined by public spending cuts, says a report.

The report has warned that it will be difficult for the Ministry of Justice to assess the centre's impact.

The authors of Doing Justice Locally said despite the interest shown at home and abroad in the centre, there was little hard data about its results.

Opened in 2005, the centre combines a court with a wide range of community services for victims and offenders.

Housed in a former school, the centre, based on a project in the USA, focuses on offenders making amends to the community with its judge also monitoring treatment programmes and community punishments.

But the report, produced by the Centre for Crime and Justice Studies, said the court's goal of "involving the community" has "proved a nebulous concept to apply in practice and raises wider questions about who should be involved, and how, and what do these engaged people do?"

It said given the project's status as a pioneering example of community justice, "it is surprising how thin the available evidence is about effectiveness of the North Liverpool Centre".

Report co-author George Mair said: "The centre offers an approach to community justice which the coalition government would do well to learn from."

His colleague Helen Mills added that the lack of robust data collection on impact will make it difficult for the Ministry of Justice to assess the centre at a time when budgets are being scrutinised.

The Centre for Crime and Justice Studies is a charity specialising in the research of crime and social justice issues.

The Vaughan case appears at the end of the Crown Court list for today - noted as a case under Court 1.

I think (hope) that the fact they are using the CJC building in Boundary Street will not affect the sentence they pass on this scumbag. It would be incredible if he does not get some form of jail sentence for admitting GBH on an on-duty police officer, and I am sure that he CPS would appeal if for some reason he did escape justice.

It's not his first offence though is it? Didn't he get some sort of warning about his conduct at Chester races a couple of years ago. And did anything ever come of Resker's accusations?

The police wouldn't have to do much digging to realise this is hardly out-of-character behaviour from SV

No point in pressing charges because (a) He cowardly thumped me behind my back and
(b) all the persons present were in his pocket. Witnesses-you're joking although Bob Gray
allowed me to use his office phone to speak with the police.

Absolute joke of a sentence.

Not a bad sentence realy when you only get 2-3 years for running a child over , or crashing in to an old persons car and killing them .
