Again please refrain from the bridge crossing issue as its been noted. I certainly know a thing or 2 about managers in the lower leagues but the unibond/vodkat league even for me is unknown when it comes to avaliable managers Who on earth could we employ as manager apart from Iain Jenkins. Does anyone have any knowledge of managers experienced at that level who we could employ on a part time basis with an assistant? Maybe the player/manager/assistant manager route could be crossed?Anyone but Mike Griffiths will be fine thanks. wink.gif

Don't worry star blue, I'm only in the running for assistant manager. biggrin.gif

Iain Jenkins for me every day of the week, has the club at heart and done a good job in the scottish non league.

jim harvey has already said that he wants a job near his wirral roots and has already shown he isn't afraid to drop a couple of leagues, i really wouldn't be suprised to see him back here.

I would. He'd still command Wages we just couldnt afford.

Shame, but i dont see it happening. Jenks would be a viable option though

Disagree Jack, if we end up in the Unibond playing at the deva and getting decent gates then i think we could tempt Jim harvey to return, he wouldnt want mega bucks wages and he would actually get paid this time round.

No coincidence that Stalybridge on a good run at the moment. Realistically don't think it would be Harvey, depends on the level we start at. Lower down and you need someone experienced at that level. Look at FC United opted for Karl Marginson, he'd been around in the lower leagues for years and knew exactly how to play and who to bring in. Jenkins isn't a bad shout though.

Nail on head. You need someone who knows his way around whatever league you will be playing in. If you end up in the Vodkat (NWC) League, you will need a manager with experience of that level. There is no point splashing the cash at Conference/Football League managers who don't know Alsager from Stone Dominoes. Just please keep your hands off our gaffer- unless you have a spare quarter mil in compo!!!

Jenks is a good shout for me also, a popular choice certainly. However, we will need to do our homework on the Mgr appointment.

It has to be someone who knows and understands football at the level we are in. Someone with good contacts in the North West non-league scene. Remember, we are going to be part time so they will be local lads. The Harry Mac of 35 years ago.

I would have said Steve Burr but since he's now at Kiddy we got no chance.

There are a number of lads out there that would be good choices for the managers job. Carl McAuley at Vauxhalls, Liam Watson at Southport, Peter Davenport of ex Macclesfield and Banger fame also.

Also some decent managers knocking around at LoW level as well that shouldn't be overlooked!

Harry Dunn? By the way I also look forward to trials for new players. Would be a laugh to try out. I know a few people deadly serious in going for part time contracts. One has had a star struck youth career at Northwich Vics. biggrin.gif

..........and Jenk's knowledge of the English non league scene is what exactly?

Maybe a good idea to get away from this ex player is best view.

Give me an experienced man at that level anyday. He will know what we don't, and maybe put a half decent side together quickly.
