So who do we all want then?

Personally York City away is the dream for me as I now live a 15 minute walk from Bootham Crescent.

One of the league one teams at home that will bring a big following . . . Preston, Bristol City, Coventry or Sheffield United . . . so that probably means a dreadful away draw! cityscarf.gif

Failing that lets have really easy games right through to the third round away at Old Trafford live on TV and half the gate recipts. That should see us through a few seasons biggrin.gif

http://www.thefa.com/news/the-fa-cup/2014/...er-draw-numbers

The FA Cup returns to the BBC on Monday with the First Round Proper Draw live from St. George’s Park.

All eyes will be on the three smallest clubs left in the competition with Shildon, Willand Rovers and Greenwich Borough all hoping to progress this weekend and face Football League opposition in the First Round.

Witham Town are another non-League side in unchartered waters, with the Essex based side aiming to see off Weston-Super-Mare at their Spa Road ground and reach round one for the first time in their 138 year history.

Yesterdays results do show how strong the Conference Prem is compared to the rest of non league and what a step up it seems to be. Only Welling, Kidderminster and Torquay are not in Mondays draw and Kidderminster and Torquay both went out to fellow Conference clubs. Welling getting beat by Maidstone.

Three 1st Round matches will be televised live plus one 1st round replay. One match on the BBC, two + the replay on BTSport. Last season a tv appearance was worth £67,500 to clubs whose 1st round match was shown live, £33750 for the replay - both per club with around £6600 (I think) for highlights. Not a fortune, but much better than the current tv deal with the Conference.

BT Sport's agreement with the Conference does indeed often lead to the 'bigger' host clubs losing money, or at best breaking even, but this is a separate deal. The money is paid out by the FA to the clubs from their TV rights fund and not directly from either BT or the BBC.

Agree, Norton/Shildon at home for me. Better chance of reaching the third round, at least in theory.

And not Wrexham please, yes we all enjoy the derby but twice a season is enough!

Worst possible outcome is if we draw another Conference Premier club (even Wrexham). Just boring as we will play them in the regular season anyway.

I agree with post number 11 .The lowest ranked team at home .

Lowest ranked is not always the worst. For example, I would prefer to play a team bottom of the conference, than top of the league below it.

Concord Rangers at home and then hopefully 2nd round away win at Wrexham and pull Chelsea away in the third.

Not bothered who we get in the 4th though biggrin.gif

Anyone but Wrexham, we need to make money from this cup runand another bubble match with a big police bill is not the way to do it.
Like most people though I would prefer it was not another conference side, which probably means it will be.
