I like the number 13, why are you not bothered, did they teach you to count 12, 14 ,15.

I hate to think how many times I've driven along the M56 and have never even noticed the absence of J13, so I wouldn't waste any more time worrying about it wink.gif

Where would any proposed junction go, though?

Junction 12 exits at the A557 Frodsham, Runcorn, Widnes and Northwich. Junction 14 exits at the A5117 at Stanlow, Helsby and Elton. With all respect, there is nothing in-between for a junction anyway. Must be an "unlucky number" thing.

I drove it the other day and thats when I noticed it, so why when it was built did they miss 13 out seems a bit strange and the lack of number 13 could upset the Poles
who want to come off for a picnic.

I live in Westminster Park and work near Manchester airport. I have been driving the M56 for donkeys.

I once worked out that I spend 5% of my entire life on the M56 and shamefully admit that I'd never noticed that there was no junction 13.

I tell all my customers to come off at Junction 12,when they are either coming from Wales or the Wirral.What i want to know is,where does the A55 stop,and the M53 start? (Or the other way around?) Can anybody answer that? crying.gif

They are right as there is a Big sign with M53 on it may be your eyes are dimming old timer

So thats settled it then,it joins the A55 at the NEXT junction,which i think is the Whitchurch Rd turn-off. I should've had my first appointment today regarding having the cataract done on my left eye,but they got mixed up with the appointments,so now i am going to have to wait! So yes AOTN,i will use that as an excuse. laugh.gif

It's to do with many of the irish that helped build the m56 that lost there lives that they didn't put a junction 13 in because of it being bad luck!

If we're talking motorway exits now, my favourite has to be on the I75 in Detroit: Exit 69 is Big Beaver Road. There's another classic somewhere in Michigan too....
