Announcing another 3% price hike today, despite the failing services, the rail minister said “In order to provide better value for money we’re raising prices”.

Love it biggrin.gif

And once again, the privatised rail companies increase prices by 3% at New Year despite services getting worse.

If you commute by train and voted Conservative, congratulations!

Remember the 2015 Tory pledges? As usual, they lie and fail on so many.

One example is rail prices...

Key policies
Extra money for the NHS was a key pledge during the election campaign

Many of the party's main pledges were in its manifesto, but some were also made later in the election campaign. The party said it would:

Introduce a law guaranteeing no rise in income tax rates, VAT or national insurance before 2020
Invest an extra £8bn a year for the NHS by 2020
Hold a referendum on membership of the EU by 2017
Open 500 more free schools
Extend the right-to-buy scheme to housing association tenants in England
Build 200,000 starter homes
Ensure all people who work 30 hours per week on the minimum wage pay no income tax
Double free childcare allowance for three and four-year-olds to 30 hours
Increase the inheritance tax threshold on family homes to £1m by 2017
Make sure there are no above-inflation rises in rail fares until 2020

Every price rise in recent times has been over 3%, yet inflation has been below that for most of the last 5 years. I don't know how they get away with it... crying.gif
