Store's apology over festive card

I'm sure they'd normally run an article like this with a picture of the woman holding the offending card, but it's nice of the Beeb to spare us that frightening image. wink.gif

It's just typical of someone like you Chris to mock at this clear injustice.
Ignorance is bliss eh? Racism, sexism and ageism perhaps but having 3 carrot headed kids is no laughing matter. poor woman.

Not really appropriate on a kids card I don't think. Don't get me wrong I hate PC and everything it entails but if a kid received that on christmas day I doubt they'd find it that genuinely funny. Adults are usually less sensitive to getting such cards.

To be fair there's a benefit to being ginger. No need for X-rays when shining a torch through them will do just as good.

Hey whoa whoa whoa! let's not be burning crosses here, it's the 21st century, we're not animals, we live in a civilised society, they're not all acne ridden bad tempered sunburn victims y'know. The kindest thing to do would be to round them up and put them in 'ginger' reservations where they could live the rest of their lives in peace without normal people having to look at them, God bless em'

That's a shocking card to be fair!! But surely those kids could get away with being strawberry blonde anyway??

Some people go out of their way to be 'offended'. It gives them the opportunity to get on their high horse and impose some sort of guilt on the rest of us, not forgetting the financial rewards that being 'offended' can often bring. The stupid woman could have just laughed it off, but now this ginger whinger has exposed herself and her kids to even more ridicule.

Not a bad idea but rather than a resrvation why not put gingers in a special Ginger Zoo ? Normal people could then be kept apart from the gingers but would have the option of paying £ 5 to go and see these wierd and wonderful creatures. For an extra £ 5 normals would be allowed to hurl abuse at the gingers and for another £ 10 they could have the option of throwing rotten fruit at them. 10 % of profits could go to charity, everyones a winner.

Oh come on CP do you think it's funny being ginger? imagine what it's like having no friends, no invitations to parties, no social life, no sex, no hopes and no future.... then again.... you COULD ask half the people posting on this site.

I have never understood why some people don't like ginger haired people and there has been a "we don't like gingers" attitude i noticed whilst at school.

I'm not sure how old the likes of Tom are, but I assume that he his one of the band of young teenagers on Deva Chat. This I don't have a problem with as I wish I'd had the luxury of the internet when I was their age, but why do they type how they speak? It's all quite bizarre.
