Just got back . . . three down at half-time after a bright opening from our lads . . . the second Morecambe goal a cracker. Ben Jones missed a sitter at 1-0. A defensive error early in the second half completed the scoring. Sparse crowd of around 200 . . . Big Dave Artell was there for the second half.

Especially against teams on the fringes of the lake district. Like Donald Campbell, we were sunk.

The worrying thing for me last night was that no one in the side looked ready for the big step-up to the first team, the two that had played Jones and Rawlinson were off the pace . . . . looks like Owen, Ellams, Kelly and Platt could be the last to come through for a while. At least Jim Harvey was there to see it for himself.

His second or third game in 11 months though, so thrown into it really.

Didn't know that . . . no wonder he struggled a bit then!

Assuming your comment is sincere, that's what we said last night, he seemed to get the best out of the lads, whereas the two on the line last night didn't, and that's nothing personal against them.
