I can confirm that Lee Steele will sign on loan for Chester City and Drewe Broughton will go on loan to Boston Utd providing The Football League clear both deals as technically they are Emergency Loans.

If clearence is received it is expected that Lee will go straight into the squad for the Barnet fixture on Saturday.

To be honest, this is a brilliant swop!!

What do the league class as an emergency loan? Seems very unlikely in our situation.

Surely having strikers that cant put the ball in the net isn't officially an emergency, is it?

I'd like to see if Broughton could move any faster than 'slow/painfully slow' in a real emergency.Perhaps if someone set his shorts on fire we might find out, only a suggestion. wacko.gif

Well Done Bear

You have done very well to get Lee on board as all the signs had pointed to me him joining the Shrews. How do the football league class it as an emergency loan?

Does this now mean the Elding deal is dead?

I just hope it wont turn out to be another Ricky Ravenhill type loan deal again.

I am saying well done to bear on a good signing. This lad could be the difference between average and gaining promotion.

Give up all the 'in the know' bulls**t! It's getting embarrassing just how often you're wrong.

Bear, can you disclose whether this is just a loan or a loan with a view to a permanent move if he proves a success?
Fingers crossed it goes through

Just the type of player we need, experienced and been around, knows his way around the goal mouth. After chattin to a Shrews fan the other day they commented he doesnt do a lot then suddenly you notice him and he scores.

That will do for me!

I can remember Steele scoring a couple of very well-taken goals against us at Gay Meadow in the late 90s when he was at Shrewsbury. If he still has that predatory instinct then that it what we've been crying out for in attack this season.
