Of his time at Chester, all about his long managerial career and clubs he's been at, players he's proud of. But NO mention at all of his time with us.

Probably because his short spell here did not increase his stock.

Nice guy, but on reflection perhaps he was the wrong fit for our club.

Looks like he is having a struggle, at Southport, with familiar failings... too many loanees, coupled with his expansive game and an increasingly leaky defence. Not looking good for Southport, with all the bottom clubs winning, yesterday.

Ferriby had scored 14 goals in 29 games before adding 4 at Port on Saturday.

Looking at the goals on the BT Sports show, the Southport defending was beyond awful.

Kiddy were woeful until they got Dunkley in IIRC. If you want to be expansive your defence needs to be solid, at Port, it is not.

I imagine it was one of the main reasons JMc concentrated on defence first with us, Akintunde for example was one of the last signings.

Any surprise that Southport have the worst goals conceded record in the division?

They need to make sure that their safety is guaranteed with 3 games to spare. Their run in is:

Forest Green Rovers (h)

Tranmere Rovers (a)

Lincoln City (h)

Ouch!

our next 3 are pretty tricky too:

Dover (a)
Dag & Red (a)
Gateshead (h)

Infact it doesn't get much better as after that is maidstone (a) and we lost 0-3 at home.. then barrow who just beat lincoln 3-0. Then burrs Southport (should win but they always seem to get pumped up against us e.g. lost there in fa cup this season)

The next 3 after that:
Tranmere (h)
Lincoln (a)
Eastleigh (h)

3-1 against Maidstone, just to be pedantic.
