Those of you at the meeting last night will be aware that as part of our business plan and vision for the football club we issued a rallying call to our members to come forward and play an active role in the club. We printed around 150 forms and they had all gone by the end of the night, in fact we already have 18 names willing to work simply for the love of the club.

You all have valuable skills and experience that can contribute to the future success of our club and now is the time to tell us how you can help bring the glory days back to the Deva. The lower level of football means that we won't realistically be able to employ as many members of staff so it is essential that CFU develop a broad base of volunteers, all willing to give some of their time to the club.

There is a huge range of ways in which you can play your part. From stewarding to cleaning, catering to marketing, selling programmes and raffle tickets, taking photographs on a match day, working in McNally's Bar (personal preference!), editing the programme and so on.

What we need you to do is think about how you can help. Download a volunteer form by clicking here and return it to us as soon as possible. Hopefully we'll be able to build a bank of volunteers to share their workload.

I know a couple of lads looking for volunteer work to fill out their CVs at the moment as they want a new job but in the current economic climate its proving difficult for them so would they be able to volunteer themselves even if they are not CFU members and would CFU be happy to give them a reference when they apply for paid jobs ?

So was Tony Allan, so was Shaun Piercy so was Gary Kent even yet people still defend them. Rob Clegg has dealt with some of the worst owners in history in Smith, Vaughan, Barnes etc give him a break.

I think he may have been joking, due to the ninja eyes? Cleggy, if he still wants the job, should still have it, but you have to admit that there are times when it would be nice if he did just quieten down a bit biggrin.gif
