Mannix suffered broken cheek bone and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Chronicle wont confirm identity or if another player involved, although weve already been told it was Ellison.
Cheshire Police attended the scene and it has now supposedly been passed to North Wales Police as it was over the border.
Bob Grey said no police involved yet but will support Mr Mannix if he presses charges.
"There is an internal investigation into the training ground incident. Whatever the findings are, he will be dealt with accordingly to the disiplinary procedure if its found it did take place"

Although they wouldnt confirm if another player was involved (although Archie has already told us it was Ellison), Bob Gray said "he will be dealt with" above.

It just shows how the current performance and spell of bad results is affecting the team. One can only assume tempers are flaring and it's no surprise. They must all be getting fustrated and find someone to take it out on.

He was indeed provoked and let's face it, if SD had felt that KE was out of order, he wouldn't have been in the last 2 squads.

Move on.

Ha! No, just a player's relative I was talking to on Friday - could all be a load of balls of course.

To be honest, the chap may be tall but I'd be rather embarassed about being chinned by League 2's phoney hard man!

It's good to know that Bob "Clousseau" Gray is on the case. Ellison must be quaking in his boots.

It also means we have another disgruntled employee at the club with probably 18 months left on his contract.

How easily this could've been sorted by SD if he'd jumped on mannix in the first place and calmed him down instead of allowing him to "dive in"

Some people need to learn from their mistakes, I'm guessing Mannix won't make the same one again.

Bit different from the fat lip that someone orginally mentioned.

Do you know that he was provoked 100% or that it might of been six of one and half dozen of the other as I have heard a different version of what went on by someone close to Mannix. And that Mannix may have permanent damage so to those who gave Ellison a bowdown.gif need to fcuking get a grip

I agree!

And if the club really are cash-strapped then this would be an opportunity to off load one of our high-earners. He should tread carefully if you ask me!

You should never assume anything!

Did I say get rid? I was making the point that at times of financial turmoil those big earners should be careful. I wouldn't know Mannix if I fell over him......and yes he's a tonsil!

endorsing violence.

i thought violence was supposed to be frown upon in football not celebrated. barbaric.

Indeed, adverse comments on Devachat must leave the man permanently filled with rage. It's a wonder he prevents himself from committing an atrocity on a global scale in the face of such intense pressure and hatred.
