According to Shrewsbury fans Port Vale supporters have been smashing up pubs today around Shrewsbury, starting fights after the game and there was also a pitch invasion.

Some Shrews fans are glad their away trip to Vale is a Sunday 12 and are saying Vale should be prosecuted.

Or... theyre all just overeacting.

Been saying for a while you lot on here are taking the Vale game very lightly.
They had a right team up in Darlo the other week looking for trouble and that 160 miles away and yet some on
here think they wont travel to Chester as its a sunday game.
This fixture has been a powder keg in the past and it is still the same No love lost between the two sets of lads.

I don't think time will have softened Vale up in the slightest.
I remember the 80's and Crewe away when Vale turned up and Chester leathered them. This is the only match I agree should be 12 on a Sunday. It's going to be very interesting.

Port Vale took 989 to Shrewsbury today, for what would appear to be there big derby for the season on a saturday afternoon.

I would expect no more than 700 next sunday then.

I remember a game in the mid 80's, Darren Beckford and Robbie Earle playing for them, think we lost. After the game was carnage, and we were chased all the way along Sealand Rd and up in to Chester by Vale fans.

Reading Blue and Amber it seems that there was nothing more than a pitch invasion when Vale scored a 96th minute winner. Any number of posts stating that they could have kicked off, but that nothing happened.

Stoke on trent is one of those places time left behind especialy Burslam..I remember them in the 80's and looking round the place they have,nt moved on in any shape or form..At least our wonderful plod will be there at the back patters bravery awards 2008 for sorting them out..Only after 3 gruelling months sitting in a heated office drinking coffee watching the CCTV footage..dont expect them on the streets sorting anything out bar their overtime allowence..t£&s

that statement may well come back to haunt you

it may be true for 90% of clubs, but when it comes to fans of the likes of vale, stoke, bolton, burnley etc it doesnt apply.
all the above came looking for it in the early 90s and i suspect not much has changed. just think yourself lucky we arent playing those teams week in week out.

to add a couple more - wigan, west brom.

I remember beating them 4-1 on New Years Day in front of over 5000 in the 80's (which was a massive crowd in Div 4 in the 80's).

Great times.

This is not the 80s this is 2008 and the loons are still active and coming your way.
Mind you wont see them you will be on your ps3 then in to the safety of the blues bar and then disapear after the match.
