NY is close to pulling the plug on his attempts to sign Danny because of the fee wanted by Kendal according to the Chronicle. Would be a great shame to lose Danny and it shows how difficult it is going to be signing quality playes for next season with our budget.

If they value him so highly why were they happy for him to be loaned out for virtually a whole season?

Dont think he is worth paying money for , unless its a small fee . we already have a decent left winger anyway who scored twice as many goals in half the game time ! ( runs and ducks for cover )

I think Danny is a good player but like the views above would not pay over the odds for him.

Danny Williams is better than Howard.

Him and McGinn work well and can swap positions during the game. I agree we shouldn't be held to ransom over this and hope Kendal see sense.

Also this was a quote from their chairman when Danny left:

Danny Williams remains under contract with Kendal Town and unless Danny is offered the chance to progress further, he will return to Kendal at the start of next season.

It's just the usual end of season horse trading. Kendal want as much as they can get, we want to get him for as good a deal as we can.

I hope we manage to strike a deal, think he's had a good season and will get better. Reckon we'll need more players with his sort of pace in the conference.

It would be a shame for Danny to end up back at Kendal, where most of the management and players have left since he was last there.

It would be nice to see a couple of the youth team players given a chance . It was suggested by Neil Young that we may see this once we had won the league . Over to you Neil !

Very talented young player, but we shouldn't and won't be held to ransom.

Yes but being from Kendal the dog is a highly trained sheep dog accompanying Phil Drabble. We won't be held to ransom and even though he lacks Danny's pace there is no doubting the quality of Iain Howard who ranks in the BSN's top scorers with only 10 appearances to his name!

I was under the impression that his contract at Kendal is up at the end of the season? I'm sure when he joined on loan the Kendal manager said they were letting him come to Chester so if it went well he would be able to stay. I may be wrong but I certainly remember reading something along those lines

Kendal's Chairman Oct 2012-

Chairman Haydon Munslow said Chester had made a number of approaches for Williams for two months, and with the winger harbouring ambitions of playing professional football, Munslow felt that he could not stand in the way of the player’s ambitions.

He said: “We are sorry to lose Danny out of the team but we also have to think about his ambitions.

“We all wish Danny well and hope he does well with this new opportunity.”

Munslow added that the move was not based on Kendal’s finances.

Williams, who joined from Clitheroe in the 2010/2011 season, remains under contract with the Black and Whites and unless Williams is offered the chance to progress further, he will return to Kendal at the start of next season.

Sounds a bit like the Macclesfield saga and Ben Mills to me. Hope NY sticks to his guns.......... but gets Danny in the end when they see sense.

I don't think Danny Williams is better than Howard, or for that matter I don't Judge player A is a better player than B or C.

Iain at the start of the season IMO seemed as good as any player in the team ,in fact Iain 'stood out' ,look at the Goals he made and scored before he was given the chop.

So , he is prepared to spend money that ,on his own admission we can ill afford when we already have a perfectly good player for that position .

You can't really compare Howard and Danny Williams, Danny has proved that he can play at left back aswell as on the wing.

Iain Howard has proved he can play on the wing, create and score Goals like a Striker !! and track back and work his ball's off! so yes two different players both have good points!!
